At Square One Learning, our mission is to partner with school districts in order to close achievement and opportunity gaps among students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
We understand the educational challenges that families and schools are facing, regarding the potential learning loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to difficulties with distance learning, traumatic events, and inequitable access to technology, there are a significant number of students who have fallen behind. Schools are under increasing pressure to close these gaps and prepare students to be able to compete in the emerging global economy.

Square One Learning’s tutoring program utilizes a research-based accelerated learning approach. Tutors work with school district’s existing curriculum that address state objectives to create lessons using a comprehensive, integrated approach that supports the whole student and optimizes academic outcomes. With this approach we provide intentional, practical support to students by activating existing and relevant knowledge, building prerequisite skills, and reinforcing foundational skills. This means discovering where students are, and where they need help so that tutors can provide individualized instruction toward mastery.
